10/25/10: Last chance closeouts The store is emptying out as the sale rolls on. Before too long, I'm going to shut it down for a bit while I work up some new comics and merchandise to sell, so act now--this could be your last chance!

08/24/10: Art Camp Last week I taught a comics-themed art camp to a bunch of 3rd-through-5th graders. I was nervous about how it would go, especially since there was such a wide range of ages, skill levels, and even interest in the subject matter, but they seemed to love it! Then, the other day I got this sweet letter in the mail from one of my students.

07/29/10: It's done! I finally finished drawing CRAGMORE! I'm getting a proof printed up now, and hope to start submitting it to publishers by the fall. Stay tuned--I'll update here with any new news!

06/14/10: Cragmore updating online Hey, I'm almost done with CRAGMORE (finally)! To celebrate, I'm putting even more of the book online, a few pages at a time. I won't make note of every update here, but you can start from the beginning here, or jump to the new stuff.

06/07/10: Trickster "TRICKSTER: Native American Tales," a comic anthology I contributed to, is available for purchase at Amazon.com and better bookstores everywhere. Also, NPR's "Weekend Edition" did a story on the book, and the host specifically mentioned my story as one of the highlights! Listen to it online at NPR.org.

05/06/10: TCAF I'm making my way to Canada to participate in the Toronto Comic Arts Festival (TCAF) this weekend. I've heard nothing but good things about the show and I can't wait to see it for myself. If you're going, be sure to say hi!

04/23/10: S.P.A.C.E. Wow, this weekend is the Small Press and Alternative Comics Expo in Columbus, Ohio! Look for me and plenty of other rad cartoonists hanging out in the Buckeye State.

04/08/10: MoCCA bound If anyone needs me, I'll be in New York City, at the lovely Museum of Cartoon and Comic Art festival, selling comics, t-shirts, and more!

03/24/10: CRAGMORE BOOK THREE Just in time for convention season, my upcoming graphic novel CRAGMORE is 75% done! And the third part now joins numbers one and two in the store.

01/23/10: Fixed! Okay, problem solved! All the "portfolio" links on this site now lead to patnlewis.com! Now that I have a site dedicated strictly to my illustration business, you can expect a makeover to Lunchbreak Comics in the future, focusing on all the other crazy stuff I do (mostly comics). Stay tuned!

11/24/09: Genghis Con Hello Cleveland! If you are in town, I'll be at Genghis Con, a brand-new independent comics convention at the Beachland Ballroom this Saturday, November 28, from noon-6 pm. Admission is just $5!

10/27/09: CRAGMORE online! So I know a bunch of people (okay, some people. Okay, my mother) would like to keep up with what I'm working on, but they don't want to buy the minicomics. Maybe you're waiting for the whole thing to be finished, or maybe you're just a cheapskate. Either way, I put the first 20 pages of CRAGMORE online for people just like you.

10/21/09: I SURVIVED T-shirts Back in stock, after a successful debut at SPX: vintage-looking "I Survived the Giant Monster Invasion of '94" t-shirts, in the store. Just 15 bucks plus shipping (larger sizes slightly more)!

09/28/09: Back from SPX; shop updated SPX was a ton of fun and a huge success as usual. It was great hanging out with some old cartoonist pals (and new ones), plus meeting all the great people who like my work enough to shell out a couple of bucks for it. Thanks to everyone! Also, the new stuff I debuted at the show is now available for purchase in the store!

05/26/09: CRAGMORE BOOK ONE Hey, the first 40 pages of my upcoming graphic novel are now available for purchase as a minicomic, over in the store.

03/25/09: Welcome Art Directors If you've come here because of the most recent postcard mailing I did, welcome! There's tons of new work in my portfolio, as well as other goodies sprinkled throughout the site. I hope you like what you see!

03/05/09: Remodeling I'm making an effort right now to streamline this site a bit (a lot, actually). So far I've added a ton of new images to the portfolio, and I'm working on clearing out the cobwebs, removing old/embarassing work, and just generally making it easier for me to keep things up-to-date. The first part of the tune-up is done, but I expect even more changes in the weeks to come. Thanks for your patience, and stay tuned!

02/22/09: Uh-oh It seems I'm neglecting this site a lot lately, which isn't a good thing. I just updated my "Appearances" section to the right to include my 2009 schedule so far, and I'll check back in with some more additions shortly. But I know that when maintaining a website becomes this much of a burden, it's probably time for a major overhaul/streamlining of the site. I'm working on it, I swear! In the meantime I can be found hanging around Twitter, Facebook, and LiveJournal much more frequently.

09/02/08: Still Alive I haven't posted anything here in a while, but here's what I'm up to: working on a full-color, 10-page comic for a zombie comics anthology; getting ready for the paperback release of THE CLAWS COME OUT; and working on a whole new website! 01/12/08: THE CLAWS COME OUT available here Remember when I said I wasn't planning to sell copies of my book through the website? I changed my mind. I have a limited number of copies for sale on the store page. If you want a personalized copy, be sure to mention who you want it made out to.

01/08/08: Happy New Year Hey, it's 2008 already! This year, I'd like to do a better job tending to the website (and also my LiveJournal), now that I no longer have a major comics deadline looming large. Keep an eye out for tons of new illustrations, sneak peeks at my new projects, and maybe even a comic or two!

12/14/07: CLAWS update After a period of unavailability, THE CLAWS COME OUT is back in stock at Amazon.com. Also, check out this cool review of the book over at Broken Frontier!

12/05/07: Today's the day "THE CLAWS COME OUT" is in stores now. Finally I can move on to other things. But only if you buy a copy.

11/09/07: More on "THE CLAWS COME OUT" The book now has a firm in-store release date of December 5, 2007. I got an advance copy the other day, and it looks great! A lot of folks have been asking if I have a preference where they buy from. Personally, I'm a fan of supporting indie comics shops, so why not call up your local one and ask them to set aside an extra copy for you. But I know what it's like to be a consumer, too, and I can't fault anyone for going with the best deal they can find, be it Amazon, Barnes & Noble, or whatever. At the moment, I don't have any plans to sell the book through this site, but I'll have a bunch of copies at various conventions next year (see "Appearances," at right) if you want me to personalize one for you.

10/16/07: Ch-ch-changes Back from SPX, and updating the site. First off, there's some new merch (my "Broads and Monsters" sketchbook, a t-shirt and button pack) in the store, and some of the older minicomics are gone. If you're looking to buy something that's no longer listed, drop me a line--I may have a copy or two lying around somewhere.

10/11/07: Small Press Expo First thing tomorrow, I'm off to the big "SPX" show in North Bethesda, Maryland. I'll have some minicomics for sale, plus t-shirts and a brand-new sketchbook! If you can't make it, don't worry--I'll post both for sale here when I get back.

08/29/07: "CLAWS" update Wow, I haven't posted anything here in two months? That's because I've been busy finishing up THE CLAWS COME OUT, which is now available for pre-order in your local comic shops (page 313 of Previews), or on Amazon.com. Check my preview page for more info.

06/26/07: Back from MoCCA The MoCCA Art Fest '07 was a blast, as always. I'm still exhausted, sore, and hoarse, so you know I had a good time. I posted a trip report with pictures and commentary here.

06/12/07: Gearing up I'm getting ready for my annual trip to New York to attend the Museum of Cartoon and Comic Art (MoCCA) Festival, held this year on June 23-24. It's always a good time, and I'll have tons of stuff, including brand new THE CLAWS COME OUT postcards and buttons and more! You should totally come.

05/14/07: Whew! The reason you haven't heard much from me lately is that I am hard at work finishing up THE CLAWS COME OUT and making it as awesome as possible. More updates to come--in the meantime, my Free Comic Book Day story "Jambalaya" is in the comics section, and She-Hulk has been added to the Superhero Gallery.

04/30/07: Free Comic Book Day I'll be at Phantom of the Attic in Oakland this Saturday for Free Comic Book Day. Ed Piskor, Tom Scioli, Jim Rugg and I will be there doing sketches and goofing off, plus I'll have copies of the Wide Awake Press Free Comic Book Day mini, "Eats," featuring a 4-page story by me!

04/26/07: Pittsburgh Comicon this weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday, come check me out at the Monroeville Expo Mart for the 2007 Pittsburgh Comicon. Buy a book, chit-chat, or ask me to draw something for you. It'll be a blast.

12/01/06: New logo I'm a better illustrator than I am a designer, but I'm pretty proud of the new, subtler logo I came up with for the site. To my eye, it doesn't compete as much with the artwork I post below.

10/18/06: LAST CHANCE Quick updates: My new comics have been added to the store, "Prowl" and all "Office Funnies" books are going away soon, and shipping costs will be increased/added so I don't lose as much money. Act now!

07/15/04: Support Alternative Comics One of the best indie comics publishers is struggling financially, but you can help them out! Buy Alternative products from your local comics shop, or order online from Mars Import. I personally recommend anything by James Kochalka, "Sweaterweather" by Sara Varon, Rob Ullman's "Grand Gestures" and all of Sam Henderson's hilarious "Magic Whistle" books.

04/05/04: Back from S.P.A.C.E. I had a great time at the con--I moved a lot of books and met some great people, like cartoonists Matt Feazell, Pam Bliss, and Alex Robinson. Also, I got my stuff into the hands of a few retailers. Soon I'll post a list of stores that carry my comics!
